Jeans are an everyday staple for many these days. They are practical and durable and go with everything. So how do you decide what to wear with your jeans?
There are just so many options of what to wear with your jeans. Depending on whether you want to dress them up or down.
Here are a few ideas.
Wear Jeans with a Blouse
Here is a spotty silk blouse and cardigan outfit, paired with sneakers for a casual look.
For a slightly more dressy outfit I’ve gone for boots and a button up blouse.
Jeans with a Patterned Top or Tee
A patterned top or tee is great if you’re not keen on accessorising or it just isn’t practical. But looking at the details here – the red belt gives a pop of colour and ties the stripe down the side of the jeans to the outfit.
Here with a leopard print top and sneakers – the print becomes the hero of the outfit. The sneakers keep them casual and comfy.
Using this patterned bolero with a plain knit underneath creates a more dramatic look as it creates a more structural outfit.
Jeans with a Third Piece
Just as the patterned bolero above is the hero third piece. Here below the silk kimono is a softer more flowing hero of the outfit.
I’m all about comfort and so a stretch jacket is a great addition to my jeans outfit for warmth and style.
Jeans with a Column of Colour
Love the elongating and slimming effect of the column of colour? You can do it with your jeans outfits too!
The inner column of colour is the best if you don’t want to draw attention to your tummy, and I love the soft drape of this top that hides my tummy.
Jeans with Feature Accessories
Here is another column of colour outfit. It’s how I work my dark jeans and tops but still work with my light ideal value – keep the jacket or outer layer in my ideal value then add a fabulous feature scarf with some medium value elements to tie the light and dark together plus draw attention up to my face.
Yes I know black jeans are outside of my ideal value – but I love these coated denim leather-look jeans. In winter black boots and jeans feel edgy and cool, so I team them with a signature eye colour waterfall cardigan and then use a large brooch to fasten it closed.
Honestly, I could keep going on and on and on, as there is almost no limit to what you can wear with your jeans. Add a sequin top for a glam look. Wedges and a strappy top for a summer day (don’t forget your broad brimmed hat). The options are plentiful!
