Hi, Imogen.
After reading all the articles on your blog that I possibly can over the last two months, I think I’m an X shape. According to many articles, I look best in A-line skirts. However, the problem that I always have with A-line skirts is what shirt to wear with them. Because I wear a 32DD bra, I feel like I look awkward when I tuck most shirts in; however, if I wear most shirts un-tucked, my waist is lost altogether. (Unsurprisingly I have a difficult time finding shirts that fit me in the bust and waist at the same time.) Do you have any suggestions for how to avoid these problems?
Whether you have time to answer my question or not, I think you’re amazing. You didn’t have to put all this information on the internet so that some random person in Wisconsin could figure out how to dress, but you did, and I am very thankful. 🙂
Angela
I have in the past had shirts altered to fit – taken the sleeve up and in, added extra darts to the body so that the bust fits and the buttons don’t gape and the rest of the shirt isn’t too voluminous.
When you have a large bust, if you buy shirts to fit them from regular ranges you’ll find the shoulders are too wide and the waist too wide, but here are some specialist retailers who make clothes for larger busts:
Women with Boobs
JD Williams
Hour Shape
Treasured Chest
The Big Bar Bra
Rebecca and Drew
Moi Meme

Have you found any great resources for clothes that fit a larger bust? Please share in the comments your experiences too of buying from any of these suppliers.
What a great list! I’ve tried Pepperberry already and plan on trying Campbell and Kate eventually too. One of my favorites, though, isn’t on your list and that’s BiuBiu. It’s a great Polish company that has really reasonable prices and has sizing similar to Pepperberry (but normally fits the upper end of the bust spectrum better). Also Ureshii is a Canadian company that makes made-to-measurement clothes. Oh, and AJ Rumina is a small US based company that also sells clothes by bust size (another that I’ve tried!). 🙂
Thanks for your recommendations June – it’s so great we can all get together and pool our resources to help everyone – I’ll look into them and add them to the list!
Thanks for you hints. I’ve been looking for Years for a 4 button classic blazer and a denim jacket that doesn’t draw attention to my bust with pockets on the chest. I’m short and have an h cup.
Hi Bonita – keep your eyes on these (and the other suggestions in the comments) for you blazer and denim jackets – hopefully what you’re looking for will come up!
I had bad luck with BiuBiu. Their clothes fit SUPER tight. I’m a 34G. So, unless you like feeling like a sausage, I would suggest ordering a size larger than BiuBiu suggests.
I’m 41-29-39 and fell comfortably in the 38BBB range. However, I probably would have been more comfortable (and been able to breathe) in a 40 or 42.
Thanks SO much for including Campbell & Kate on your list, Imogen. Angela’s question is EXACTLY why I have created these shirts.
I am updating the size availability on our site right now, but if a size is not currently available and your readers are willing to wait 3-4 weeks for our next production run, I am happy to offer a $20 discount. Just enter SPRINGTIMEFORIMOGEN at checkout. Their cards will not be charged until the shirt ships.
Pleasure Darlene!
I have to introduce two more companies to your list:
Biu Biu (www.biubiu.pl) in a Polish company with many positive reviews
Jailyn Apparel (www.jailyn-apparel.com) is a new company that has just launched its first product
I second Biu Biu. Great quality and prices.
Thanks Sandy – I’m definitely going to have to look at BiuBIu
I really think its great that you are really helping women to dress to their best – you must be boosting the confidence of women all over the world.

Fashion, Well Done
Thanks Gems – it’s great to be able to help women feel better and gain confidence – not everyone naturally finds it easy to have great style.
Thanks for including the Big Bra Bar.com – we don’t have the worlds biggest collection, but we have about 10 different shirts and 3 different dresses, plus loads of bikinis and lingerie etc – so hopefully everyone will find something!
We also specialise in 28DD to H cup, if anybody has that problem!
Thanks for the mention 🙂
You’ve got to add BiuBiu.pl to the list!
Hi. I have the same problem. Shirts won’t close or will look way to large all over. I’m brazilian so I really don’t know any shops with special sizes [here normal bras have only band size and are all B cups… it’s already a nightmare to find bras that fit, let alone clothes for different body shapes].
But since most of my clothes would need to be tailored anyway [I’m 35-26-40 and only 5 and 1″] whenever I have time I get my shirts made on demand(well, not only my shirts…). That’s less expensive than buying and having it tailored and you can choose fabric, color, details etc 🙂
When I don’t have the time I buy my normal shoulder/waist size and match it with some cami or tank with a square neckline and nice fabric, so I can layer them and let some extra buttons opened without expose to much or getting to informal (if the cami/tank has some nice detail or the pair match perfectly even better, so it will look more like a stylish detail and won’t be so obvious that your shirt doesn’t close properly)
Marina I’d suggest buying your bras online where you get a much greater range of sizes!
I notice many of these stores are in the UK or Europe. Any in the USA ?
Hello,
Thank you for your hard work in putting this list together. I usually buy from the UK because the USA doesn’t have much in the way of bras for someone who has a 30J bra size. I look forward to trying some tailored clothing as well.
