Patterned Skirt – What Colour Top?

Do you like to wear a patterned skirt but are unsure what colour you should choose for your top?

If you are an X, A, 8 or H shape, choose a lighter or brigher colour from the top to draw attention away from the hips/thighs and up to your face.

If you’re an H, O, V or I and would rather either add curve to your hips, or minimise your top half, choose a darker or more muted colour from the skirt and wear it as the colour of your top.

  • You are a must have across the board!

Thank you so much for coming by my blog and for inspiring me. We share the same birthday? What?

Anyway, I know I should keep on topic, but seeing your fab haircut made me think about finally getting my hair cut and I have been thinking about what kind of advice you might give for women who are nearing 30 (if 40 is the new 30, that is). Keep the long hair or kill it?

  • I like the purple top the best.

Oh, Imogen, I was trying on all my outfits that I am taking on my trip and once again I tried the white button down shirt. Just moments before I had a fantastic red turtleneck that made He-weasel purr when he saw me in it. As soon as I put the white shirt on put out the fire. It was horrible. Must give it to a charity shop.

p.s. Please don’t tell SWC to kill the long hair. I just grew my hair out long and I am loving it.

  • I must get that skirt. You did that post for me, didn’t you! I always feel with looks like these that I wm cutting myself in half into two distinct pieces of body. My waist would look fat.

  • Karen: Yes it’s a gorgeous skirt – I have to admit when I play on Polyvore I’m not looking at the pricing – just the pieces -and I seem to have expensive taste!

The reason you can wear those Citron pants is because you are a V shape and those pants help to create some curve. Unlike the pictures – only tuck if you have a long waist.

SWC – only cut your hair if it doesn’t suit you, you are sick of it, or if it’s fine and stragly – if it’s long and lush and you love it – keep it – length of hair is not about age anymore – there are many women around the 40+ who have long hair – Elle MacPherson, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Anniston etc. and you wouldn’t tell them to cut off their hair. Without seeing a pic it’s hard to say. If you would like me to have a look – send me a pic in an email to imogen dot lamport at gmail dot com.

La Belette – Just because it began its life as a white shirt doesn’t mean it has to stay as one – I love to dye clothes and I’m always getting my clients to dye their unflattering white clothes to colours that would suit them more – why not dye it to a fabulous colour – a great option is to dye it to match your eye colour. We don’t want He-Weasel’s to stop purring now do we?
