While on the subject of shoes, I was reminded whilst reading Karen’s blog about a tip with shoes to make a wider foot look narrower.
It’s down to the old line and design rules that work for both clothes and shoes, one of my golden rules of horizontal lines.
The rule is:
Never put a horizontal line on a wide point, so if you have wide feet, avoid shoes with straps across the middle of the foot, as it will make the foot look even wider – a la these shoes from Sketchers (Piperlime).
Instead, opt for a pair of shoes with a DIAGONAL strap, as Karen has done (and I hope she doesn’t mind her foot being a model here) which slim the foot and move the eye up the body. The shoes are from Bocage, sorry, not sure where you could buy them.
Glad to let you have my photos, Imogen! Can’t wait to get home and read the post on shooties! I have been wondering how those would be worn!
Thanks Karen! Glad to be of assistance.
