Not only can you look at what you wear, and what you love to try and figure out your signature style. You can also ask the question of your friends, workmates and family. They may be able to help you define your personal style, they may notice the elements that cut across all of your looks.
Today I’m going to ask the question of you:
How would you describe my style? (in no more than 5 words)
I’d love it if you post your answers in the comments about how you perceive my style. Then why not ask this question yourself on your Facebook page or just to your friends and family and see what they come up with.
When you can find a few words that describe all your looks, from more casual to more dressed up you’ve found your style statement.
Fun, funky, colourful,bold and bright!
Graphic dramatic. (I’m not quite sure how to explain this, but your clothes appear very much your canvas, you put together colour, texture, design and present an artwork.)
Dramatic creative. I’m currently doing the online course from AOPI and the prints tell me you’re one to take risks with clothing and go for the bold and dramatic with creative prints and patterns.
I love a good print, I also love a good bold colour as pales and pastels make me look weak and sick.
Glad you’re doing our course! And yes you’re reading the prints correctly!
Hip, put-together, fun, intelligent
Tailored girly
bold, colorful, polished, eclectic, cool-toned
proud of your striking colour! And you should be!
put together with panache
I purposely didn’t look at what anyone else wrote before I posted… Here are my 5 words to describe your style: creative, colorful, eclectic, dramatic, individual
I really love your style! I’m sure you never run into anyone who is wearing the same thing you are. You look great!
Debbie – thanks for your words – I try and buy more unique pieces, or at least put things together in a more unique way. I will buy most of my pattern pieces overseas, or like the picasso top, that’s vintage, so that I don’t worry about running into others wearing the same clothes!
Colourful, dramatic and loves necklaces?!
Colourful, energetic, crisp but feminine.
artist meets professional woman
I think your style is dramatic, eye-catching, feminine, bold and creative.
Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that http://www.kimcarlisle.com nominated me for the Very Inspiring Blogging award, I in turn have nominated you, I would Like to thank her and ask that you visit her site if you haven’t already.
I love looking in my mail box to see if there is an email from you. Thankyou and keep on blogging.
Ohhh I love doing this! Thanks for asking, In a few words is difficult; sophisticated cool visual artist meets classic accessorized dress knits. I hope that makes sense to you but the words are intended to flatter because I so admire your taste and style.
Hi Imogen —
Even though I think people should only use others’ input as a jumping-off point for this exercise, I’ll play. Somehow I’m not too worried our terms will sway you into a shopping for items that aren’t you, ha!
So: if we’re talking by-the-Style-Statement-book (“the first word represents your foundation, your 80%. The second word, your 20%, is what motivates and distinguishes you”) I’d say:
Vivacious Elegance
Exuberant Sophisticate
Animated Individualist
As you can see my opinions are definitely in line with others….
Bold, modern, striking, confident, vivid
Only five words?
Creative, feminine, colourful, bold, edgy.
Sure I can’t choose more?!
Bold, feminine, colorful, unique, happy!
Funky, fun, playful and modern!
Bold, composed, feminine, comfortable, mature.
Fun, bold, & colorful!
Bold, colorful, playful, and for some outfits – cutting edge.
fun, bold, organized
Polished, poised, vibrant, eclectic
Bright, bold, dramatic, interesting, fascinating
I’d say “Funky, Fun & Creative” 🙂
