Earlier this week when taking out a basket of recycling to the bin at dusk, as I tipped the rubbish in, I caught a whiff of spring. I closed the bin, stopped and breathed in deeply and discovered that my garden is currently overflowing with the scent of beautiful flowers. As I walk around the front of my house I smell a honeyed scent that permeated the air, and I realised as I stopped, and looked around too, all the trees are in bloom, the grass is still green (it will shortly go brown when the summer hits), and that just stopping to reflect and enjoy natures bounty makes me happier.
I also stopped to photograph with my phone some beautiful street trees whilst walking my whippets (Zella – left, purple lead, and Cleo – right, red lead)
So this weekend’s reading is dedicated to happiness.
